Workplace Violence Against Nurses Working In Mental Hospitals In Oman: a cross-sectional study

Introduction Workplace violence (WPV)has been a persistent problem that is underestimated and generally disregarded by the public professional organisations, it has noticed highest number of these assaults are directed towards healthcare workers. Objectives The aim study to determine prevalence workplace against nurses in psychiatry hospitals Oman explore determinants contributing Methods This cross-sectional was conducted at two tertiary mental health care (Al Masarra Hospital Sultan Qaboos University Hospital) Muscat, between October, December 2021.Participants were asked complete Violence Health Sector assess level violence, as well sociodemographic survey. Results included 106 participants with 80% response rate. Majority aged 30-39 years. Of this study, 52.8% werefemale most participates Omani (73%) working inpatient (80%). type experiences verbal 86.8%followed physical 57.5%. Most incidents 26.4% took place during weekdays incidences happened morning shifts (34%) followed afternoon shift (25.5%). Conclusions Current revealed relatively high WPV among psychiatric Oman.
